Neighborhood Hero’s Mentorship Program

The mission of the Neighborhood Hero’s Mentorship program is to support and promote volunteer advocacy for youth and young adults so they can build self-confidence, gain valuable skills and live a happy productive life. We focus on providing a second chance for those that may benefit from one-on-one support and guidance from our caring, trained mentors.

To achieve this mission, the iRise Foundation recruits, screens, trains and supervises volunteers, who has the desire to assist our vulnerable populations. Our highly trained, professional and credible volunteers are responsible for making recommendations on behalf of the best interest of the youth or young adult.

How it Works?

Our volunteers advocate on behalf of their child(ren)’s physical, educational, medical, emotional and social needs. As a Neighborhood Hero’s Mentor they are encouraged to research information and talk to everyone involved in the youth or young adult life. Our volunteers may have contact with social workers, attorneys, parents, teachers, family members, foster parents, health professionals and, of course, the youth or young adult themselves.

Neighborhood Hero’s Mentors establish a relationship with their youth or young adult getting to know his or her unique history, while providing consistency and stability during an extremely difficult time in their child(ren)’s lives. Volunteers are asked to remain with their youth or young adult life for at least one year.
